From the Desk of Mustafa Kamal
Challengers Tennis website is down from 19 Oct 2005 due to a " Server Hard Disk Failure " as reported by our hosting company TEAM ONE/WEB HOSTING PVT LIMITED" They had informed us that the problem will be " resolved " by 19th evening, unfortunately they have failed to get www.challengerstennis.org / www.challengerstennis.com / www.tennisindia.in / www.apsdf.org up and online. Kindly keep checking back & hopefully we will be online soon...... as soon as TEAMONE lives upto our " Corporate " expectations.

Unseeded Srichaphan shocks Davydenko.

The way unseeded Paradorn Srichaphan played in his 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 victory over No. 6 seed Nikolay Davydenko Friday in the second round of the US Open might cause tennis fans everywhere to pay a bit more attention to the brawny 26-year-old Thai .

Srichaphan employed a powerful forehand against Davydenko, tallying 21 forehand winners and controlling most of the match by making the 24-year-old Russian scurry and sometimes shrug in exhaustion at the shots he just could not reach.

Sania closes on to a clash with Sharapova.....
Sania Mirza defeated Marion Bartoli of France 7-6 (7/4) 6-4 victory over at the Arsmstrong Stadium here today.

Sania's powerful ground strokes proved too hot to handle for the 19-year old Bartoli whose defensive tactics backfired against her aggressive opponent.

Sania will now meet either Russian top seed Maria Sharapova or Julia Schruff of Germany for a berth in the quarterfinals.
