||Maria Sharopova proved too hot for Sania Mirza when she routed the Indian sensation in under one hour.
Maria asserted her supremacy to defeat Sania Mirza 6-2, 6-1 in just 59 minutes of play.

Unseeded Srichaphan shocks Davydenko.
|The way unseeded Paradorn Srichaphan played in his 6-4, 7-5, 6-3 victory over No. 6 seed Nikolay Davydenko Friday in the second round of the US Open might cause tennis fans everywhere to pay a bit more attention to the brawny 26-year-old Thai .|
Srichaphan employed a powerful forehand against Davydenko, tallying 21 forehand winners and controlling most of the match by making the 24-year-old Russian scurry and sometimes shrug in exhaustion at the shots he just could not reach.
Sania closes on to a clash with Sharapova.....
Sania Mirza defeated Marion Bartoli of France 7-6 (7/4) 6-4 victory over at the Arsmstrong Stadium here today.
Sania's powerful ground strokes proved too hot to handle for the 19-year old Bartoli whose defensive tactics backfired against her aggressive opponent.
Sania will now meet either Russian top seed Maria Sharapova or Julia Schruff of Germany for a berth in the quarterfinals.

Sania and Australian Bryanne Stewart went down 2-6 4-6 to French woman Emilie Loit and Aussie veteran Nicole Pratt.
Paes and Navratilova, Australian Open and Wimbledon champions in 2003, defeated French pair Tatiana Golovin and Fabrice Santoro 6-3 6-2 to advance to the second round.
Mahesh Bhupathi and Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova faced formidable challenge from Tiantian Sun of China and Sweden's Simon Aspelin before emerging 4-6 6-3 7-6 (11/9) winners.
Shinobu Asagoe went thru to the third round of the US Open while Tiantian Sun of China lost to Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain.

Sania struggled to defeat 65 ranked Mashona, Sania went up, breaking Mashona in the very first game but the American bounced back with two successive breaks to go up 4-2. But serving for the set, Mashona was broken. In the tie-breaker, Mashona's nerves frayed and she let go a two set point advantage to Sania. The second set was a ding-dong battle that saw Sania fail to close the match after going 3-1 up. Mashona did well to come back twice from a break behind while Sania hanging to avert a break in the 12th game and pushed the set into the tie-breaker.
Yung-Jan Chan. - Chinese Taipei
The rookie from Taipei got her first taste of gritty Grand Slam tennis, thrown into the fire at Arthur Ashe Stadium against Serena Williams, a seven-time Grand Slam champion. Chan fought valiantly in the second set and gave Williams a scare before the former champion rebounded to finish off the match with a flourish.

Akiko Morigami left Flushing Meadows in a wheelchair after being overcome by heat against Australian Nicole Pratt as temperatures soared above 30 degrees Celsius. She had won the first set.....
Sania knocked out in finals
Sania plays a lower ranked Mashona Washington of US in the first round of US Open.
|Indian tennis sensation and third seeded Sania Mirza was defeated by unseeded Lucie Safarova(CZE) who is currently ranked 65 in the world. She won the match in three sets.
Sania got to a good start by wining the first set 6-3 but Lucie got her act together to win the second set 7-5 and the third at 6-4.

Sania in Forest Hills Finals.....
Sania Mirza defeated 15-year-old wild card Alexa Glatch 6-4, 6-4 Friday to advance to the final of the Forest Hills Women's Classic. She will face Lucie Safarova who defeated Iveta Benesova 2-6, 6-1, 6-4.
